Renaissance Medallion

This gorgeous medallion was part of the ceiling reclaimed from the Renaissance Books Building in downtown Milwaukee, WI.  Built in 1893 as a furniture manufacturer's showroom, it was razed due to neglect in 2019.  Virtually the entire ceiling was able to be saved, despite serious water damage to the rest of the building.  Pressed by the Freidley and Voshart Metal stamping company in Chicago 127 years ago, it now has a new lease on life as a spectacular focal point piece of art!

I have used a variety of greys, golds, silver, tan beige, turpuoise and teal in warm and cool tones, then toned it with a medium warm charcoal.  It measures 48 inches x 48 inches and weighs 18.5 lbs.  It comes complete with hanging hardware for hanging as a square or on point.  It would make a stunning fireplace piece or use it as a headboard, or over a sofa, or in a stairway.
